Anya House - Hostel

The owner is a very kind person, and the room had everything I needed: A/C, speed wifi, TV, blankets, and more. It was cute and cosy, and most of all, extremely clean. The four bathrooms were spotless too. There’s a microwave at reception. The location is handy, close to the port, food markets, and city centre, but it stays quiet at night so you can sleep without noise. This is the place you're looking for!

The rooms feel cheerful, not sad, and they came with AC, a fridge, and a TV set. The place was super clean, and the person running it was really nice and helpful. When the power went out, he let us know right away, then told us as soon as it came back. He also noticed we’d forgotten to close the mosquito net in the evening and reminded us.

I stayed the night before full moon. The hostel is only a 3 minutes walk from the port (Thong Salar), and it was calm, clean, and had good ac. Free drinking water and coffee too.

Once you’re in town, it’s easy to find this hostel on foot. From the ferry pier, turn left, pass the 7Eleven, and follow the road beside the shore for a few minutes. There’s no need to get a taxi. A small, clean beach is only about 50 meters away, with clear blue water and little boats, a lovely view for a town. The dorms are busy, but each bed has its own curtain and reading light, so it still feels cozy. Private rooms have opening windows and a drying rack for clothes and towels, and feel almost like a small hotel room for less money. The bathrooms are shared downstairs, but clean. The place is tidy and organized, and looks better in person than in the photos. You’re right in the town center, near ATMs, money exchange, banks, restaurants at all price points, bars, 7 Elevens, motorbike rentals, and tour agencies. The Google Maps pin might be off, but I’d recommend staying here if you want to be in town rather than elsewhere on the island.
