Beyond the Blue Horizon Boutique Bungalows

Breakfast by the pool with a sea view was stunning, and we much preferred choosing from a menu to having a buffet. The resort is small and feels personal, with really friendly, helpful staff. We spent a lovely few days at Beyond the blue. A huge shout out to Lek. We arrived in the middle of a storm, and he got completely drenched while bringing our bags and taking us to the room. We were so grateful. He also arranged a scooter, suggested beaches and dinner spots, and greeted us with a huge smile every morning and evening.

I stayed for two weeks and felt like part of the family almost right away. It’s a wonderful oasis, and I can’t imagine choosing anywhere else on the island. I’ll be back, and I’d especially recommend it to solo travellers looking for a calm little slice of paradise amid the madness. The team are welcoming and helpful from the moment you arrive. The tropical grounds are beautifully maintained, with winding paths and lots of plants. There are plenty of stairs, so keep that in mind if stairs are difficult for you. The restaurant is clean, the food is delicious and beautifully presented, and the staff are funny and kind. They give good advice to people who are new to the island and take real care to make you feel welcome. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with scented oils in the bathroom and incense burning around the property. There’s water and coffee in the room, plus token sweets that are changed daily, fresh towels, and beautifully made beds. The pool is clean and refreshing, a good size for lounging by. You can also relax on the porch overlooking the sea, or walk to nearby beaches and shops. I’m too nervous to rent a motorbike, but I could walk a fair distance to beaches or hail a cab outside the front.

The sea trip was a highlight of our stay, really well organised and unforgettable. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, with daily housekeeping and thoughtful attention to detail. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, and the service was excellent. We also enjoyed delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, with plenty of variety and quality ingredients. The hotel has a relaxing atmosphere and great hospitality. We’d be happy to return.

I wish I’d had more than three nights available here during my time on the island. It’s a lovely little property, peaceful and secluded, with a nice deck and pool by the sea. There’s no beach, but they have SUPs and a kayak. The food was all wonderful, especially the French toast, which you really should try.
