Jungle Garden Bungalows

We paid 700 baht a night, which was among the cheaper places we’ve stayed, and extended once already. We would have stayed longer if we hadn’t had an onward journey. The lady we spoke with spent her days pottering about in the garden, and you could tell she took pride in the place and wanted us to be comfortable. The huts were very clean and everything worked. The bed was comfortable, with a mosquito net, and there were nets on the windows. There was a chair and table, floor cushions with a comfortable carpet, and a sturdy hammock. The bathroom had no roof, so it was essentially outdoors, which we found refreshing. The showers were hot and we got clean towels. There’s a help-yourself kitchen with a stove, fridge, and drinking water, which was a bonus. The surroundings are really calming, like being in a jungle garden. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Be ready for the sounds of jungle life around you 😊. The bungalows sit back from the main road, with a 7/11 about a 10 minute walk away. The Srithanu / Zen Beach areas are a lovely, flat 30 minute walk. Our bungalow was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with super fresh bedding and a brilliant hammock. The staff were very friendly, and there’s a fully stocked kitchen. They provide clean water for hot drinks.

I spent about 1 and a half months at the Jungle Garden and wouldn’t have chosen anywhere else on the island. The setting is peaceful, tucked into the jungle, and the location couldn’t be better: super quiet but not too far from all the action. The owner is one of the friendliest landlords I’ve ever had, and the people I met in the other bungalows were great. I’ll definitely come back on my next trip to Phangan.

A calm, quiet area, right between the beaches and thang sala. The staff were polite and respectful. The room and toilet were clean, and the value felt fair for what I paid.
