Haad Salad Resort

We only planned two nights at Haad Salad Resort, then wound up staying for more than a week. The family running the place were genuinely kind, and our room was cleaned regularly. Breakfast was simple, with coffee, fruit, toast, and water, and scooter rentals were available cheaply right there. It’s an easy walk to a great beach, with good restaurants nearby and a relaxed atmosphere away from crowds and pretentious attitudes. The pets around the property were a sweet bonus. The owners even helped arrange our trip to the ferry when we left. Great value, and we’d stay again.

Haad Salad Resort has the quiet, natural feel that people mean when they talk about the “old Thailand.” The kind Thai family who run it made us feel welcome, and the bungalows were clean, spacious, and comfortable. Haad Salad Beach is only a few steps from the lovely pool, and its sands are pristine. In the morning there’s complimentary coffee, tea, fruit or toast, plus plenty of warm smiles and cat and dog cuddles. If this kind of place is what you’re looking for, you’ve found your Koh Phangan stay.

For a quieter stay on the island, this family run spot is lovely. The owners are sweet and helpful, and there are lots of really friendly cats and dogs. They put out a small free breakfast each morning, and Haad Salad Beach is nearby.

The rooms are to a high standard, and it’s a fun place to stay. Being near the quiet sea, with the wind and birds around and blue water and sky, is a real pleasure. What else do you need?
