Joy Beach Villas

The gardens are lush and full of birds and butterflies, and the place felt peaceful. We had a spacious, modern bungalow with a separate kitchen room, quiet air conditioning, and a lovely outdoor area. Small touches mattered too: proper ground coffee topped up daily and sharp kitchen knives. The pool is right by the sea, and the location worked well for us. Scooter rental through Joy Beach Villas was easy to arrange, though you do need scooters to get around from here. Facilities and service were impeccable. I’ve stayed in many places on KPG, and this was one of the best. We’ll definitely come back! :)

I really liked my Garden Pool Villa, and the villas themselves feel cozy. The owner, Marcus, is a very cool guy with a strong charisma 🙌. There’s a private beach area, one of the nicest spots on the island for watching the sunsets. The pools are lovely too. I’d suggest a late evening swim under the stars.

We spent three weeks at Joy Beach Villas and would come back in a heartbeat. There were lots of families with small children, which made the atmosphere feel friendly and welcoming, and the pools were great for relaxing with kids. Our villa was beautifully clean and right by the beach. The bathroom was modern, with good hot water pressure, which isn’t standard on the island, and even the kitchen had hot water. Markus and his team made things easy for our family. They arranged a babysitter, scooter rental, a baby cot and chair, taxis and transfers, and gave us fantastic local recommendations. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. Indigo Café is right across the road, with several other good restaurants nearby. It’s an ideal base for a relaxed family stay on Koh Phangan. Highly recommended!

There’s no food, including breakfast, at the hotel itself, but restaurants, shops, and a 7-eleven are within walking distance. Had Rin, the full moon party beach, is about a 40 minute scooter ride away. You can get straight to the beach, though the sunbeds are beside it rather than on the sand. Our Garden Villa was spacious and clean, and the atmosphere around the hotel was calm and cozy. The staff were excellent, better than at any other hotel we stayed at in Thailand. We’d definitely recommend Joy Beach Villas.
