The breakfast was a highlight for me: really fresh fruit, great coffee made locally from their arabica beans, and a choice of Thai or Western food. I especially recommend the fried rice with vegetables, shrimp, and egg. Banana, our host, was always around to answer questions and sort out transport. We could also get a reduced private taxi fare of 200 baht, which was handy after a night in town. The place is on a very steep hill, so walking up takes effort, but it can be done. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the lovely town of panaburi, with Thai restaurants, bars, massage places, live music, and the beach. There’s also a 30 minute hike to the Bottle Beach viewpoint, which was worth doing, and you can take a 100 baht taxi from there to beautiful Bottle Beach. My friend and I had one of our best stays in Thailand so far. We worried about insects or animals getting into the room, but that wasn’t an issue as long as we kept the balcony door closed. It was great value and a truly memorable stay. We wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely return!
