For what we paid per night, the room should have been cleaner, and the suite was poor value overall. It smelled damp, the laminate floor was swollen from moisture, and the bathroom fixtures were rusty. The pillows were old and awful quality, like the cheapest supermarket ones from ten years ago. Sound insulation was poor too. The outdoor bathtub had no stopper, so it could only be used as a shower. While my child was showering, water suddenly poured from somewhere above and ran down the walls around the shower. We couldn't tell where it was coming from. We came specifically for my husband's birthday. The date was in our documents, and I told the administrator at check-in. On the day itself I even sent the hotel a subtle hint that it would be nice to get a birthday greeting. They said they were preparing a cake, but there was no cake and not even a verbal greeting from the staff. I'm very disappointed. This hotel isn't worth the money, and I wouldn't recommend it.

New Year's at the resort was unforgettable. They put on a wonderful celebration with great food, music and thoughtful presents. We loved the beachside restaurant and sunbeds, and it was lovely to relax there with the sea view. The food was delicious and well priced. The location made it easy to walk to what we needed, and we could rent a scooter there to explore further. Our room was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The resort felt serene, with lush trees and bright flowers, and clearly well cared for. It was right on the beach, with lovely views. The staff were amazing, friendly and attentive, always going out of their way to help. Tae and the rest of the crew made us feel like family. With big corporations seeming likely to take over more of the island, places like this feel worth supporting. It's an authentic, charming resort with real character. We had an incredible stay and will definitely return. Highly recommend for a relaxed getaway.

The staff are the best part of this place: always smiling, helpful and attentive. Every request we've had was sorted out, including a lovely birthday breakfast they organized for my wife. Some reviews say the staff are unfriendly or unhelpful, and I wonder if those people stayed at the same resort. We've returned for three years in a row, each time for 5-7 days, after visiting the restaurant often before Covid. I've been coming to Thailand since 2007 and seen a lot of places. This is my family's favorite resort in all of Thailand. The restaurant has a wide choice of food and drinks, excellent food and a magnificent ocean view. It's much better quality than the simple Thai restaurants in the village, so higher prices make sense. You pay for the food, service and facilities. It's a boutique hotel, not a place for the masses, and probably not the right restaurant if your main goal is to spend as little as possible. Breakfast isn't the biggest selection, but the portions and quality are great, and the Italian Espresso is outstanding. You can order the day before or just ask in the morning. They're very flexible. We always ordered at the table in the morning. Preordering is handy if you want breakfast ready at a set time, especially when it's busy or you need to catch a ferry. The rooms are stylish and cozy, cleaned every day, and at night you can hear the waves. The furniture and equipment aren't new, but they're in good condition, and the bathrooms and toilets are very clean. About the 10% service charge, it's common in Thailand, especially at more modern, upscale restaurants. In my opinion, some Westerners still expect everything in Thailand to be cheap. People don't complain about service charges in Europe, Australia or North America, but somehow they do here. It's ridiculous to spend thousands of Euros/Dollars on flights and then object to paying a small service charge for the nice Thai people doing a good job, who probably earn far less than their customers. The breakfast was embarrassing, more like what you'd expect at a 1-2 star hotel, and the price wasn't worth what we got. The staff were the worst we've encountered in Thailand: unwelcoming, never smiling, and unwilling to help sort out our problems. The "partial sea veiw" suite is misleading, since there is no sea view. Its door wouldn't close fully, letting in lots of mosquitoes. Staff said day after day that they'd fix it, but didn't really do anything.
