Salad Villa

We spent a week here in January and really liked it. The room was rustic but had the comforts we needed, including air conditioning, fans, and a refrigerator. The staff were helpful and nice, and the beach is incredible. It’s only about 20 steps from the bungalow.

Such a paradise, and the best beach on the island for kids! There are loads of restaurants, and you can order anything for your children. Everyone is super friendly and quick to answer questions. You can do laundry here with their detergent or your own, and they can arrange a taxi. Our room has air conditioning that’s been running for two months with no problems. Love this place, we’ll definitely come back!

We booked the night before because everywhere else in the Haad area was full, and it turned into a lovely surprise. The staff were always smiling and helped with our luggage, transport, and scooters. They even drove us to the post office to send postcards. Their English is limited, as it is in many places in Thailand, but Google Translate worked fine. The cleaning staff also kept the outdoor areas tidy several times a day. Our spacious villa or bungalow seemed newly renovated, though I can’t speak for the other villas. We had three beds, a big bathroom with a great shower, plenty of space, a small kitchen with cutlery and plates, a fridge, and a nice balcony. Having the sink separate from the toilet and shower worked well for several people. The air conditioning worked, and the beds were very comfortable. The villas connect directly to the beach, where bars serve coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was great to retreat to the balcony when it rained. Wifi was sometimes unreliable, but there were several routers and passwords to try, and we could stream movies most of the time by switching. It’s a good spot if you want a beautiful beach and a quiet stay, or if you’re happy getting around by scooter. A few restaurants, minimarts, and scooter rentals are close by. There isn’t a city feel, gym, or yoga within walking distance, and you’ll need a 5-15 minute drive to reach other parts of the island. For me, Salad Beach is one of the best on either side of Koh Phangan. The price was very affordable for a beachfront villa, especially split between 2-4 people. I’d absolutely come back for another peaceful, beautiful vacation. The staff made it feel like home.

The location is fantastic, right on the beach, and the bungalows come in different types. They’re all spacious and clean, though the prices feel a little high for what you get. The staff are usually friendly, but seem to change from year to year. There’s a Thai food restaurant.
