Secret Place Hotel & Coworking

I've come back for a second year at this apartment hotel, and it keeps exceeding my expectations. The rooms are spacious, clean, pretty and comfortable, right by a stunning beach. I also love the family-like atmosphere. I fell for the staff last year, and returning made me appreciate even more how amazing they are. It's a little removed from the hustle and bustle, but you can get around with a short walk or a scooter. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants along the shore. And their Pad Thai is the best I've eaten in Thailand. Prices are really, really fair. Highly recommend!

I appreciated being able to get a room at short notice, and it had a nice view. But the condition was honestly the worst I've experienced. The sheets and pillows had visible stains, and the place was extremely poorly cleaned. It felt unhygienic and uncomfortable. The owner handled it well and refunded me right away without any fuss, which I appreciate. Even so, I can't recommend the place given the cleanliness.

The bed was extremely hard, like a block of stone, and we both woke up stiff with severe neck pain each morning. The room itself was well equipped and cleaned every two days. Our location was perfect, with a beautiful beach and lots of incredibly good cafes and restaurants nearby. We were given a nicer room than the one we'd booked, but had to pay extra for it. It was a bit farther from reception, right on the beach, and that definitely made the stay better. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay at the Secret Place Hotel.

The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, but I paid 75$ a night for the worst mattress I've slept on in years. The wifi didn't work, and the dirty AC made me ill. My room had wooden shutters but no glass windows, so there was no daylight 🫠
