Seetanu Bungalows

A lovely little find, with a quiet, beautiful beach. I’d definitely stay here again.

The bungalow setup on the beach is really nice, and the location is great. Still, the price is much too high for what you get. Mine wasn’t as bad as some of the other reviews I’d seen, but the brown walls, dark brown curtains, and cheap furniture didn’t make for a pleasant stay. The staff felt cold and could have been much friendlier. The vibe wasn’t very good, and I was glad to find another bungalow on the same beach for almost half the price.

I booked three nights and stayed for the whole week. It’s right by the beach, and the rooms and grounds are clean. There’s even a hammock in the shade. The staff speak good English and are helpful. I’d stay here again.

The constant bass has changed the beach for me. During my recent two-week stay at Seetanu, the neighboring place, seatara, played loud music every single day, from as early as 8 AM until late at night. Their oversized sound system seemed to blast without regard for the volume or bass, and you could hear the thumping from the bungalow or while trying to relax on the shore. Seetanu’s guests had to put up with it too. I’ve loved Seetanu for years. The staff are generally friendly, the bungalows decent, and the peaceful beach used to be the best part. The island has been changing for the worse over the past few years, and this feels like another unfortunate change. Seetanu was my happy place, but I won’t be coming back. I hope the owners talk to their neighbors and help bring back the tranquility that made the place special. In response to the owner: no, that isn’t true. I stayed 2 weeks and there was loud music every single day. Check their Instagram too, they schedule DJ’s every other day. Please sort it out with them, they’re ruining your business.
