I don’t normally leave reviews, but this place was so nice I had to. The room’s simple, but comfortable, and the people running it are lovely. They even gave me some incredible food for free when I arrived. There are sweet dogs around who really want your attention. It’s a nice, local place, only a 10 minute walk from the bridge. I’d absolutely recommend it.

This felt like exactly what a homestay should be, sharing meals and stories and chatting casually with the host. Thanks so much for welcoming me, cooking local food, and telling me your story from Myanmar to Sangkhla. The house is cute and the facilities are basic. I fell in love with Sangkhlaburi, such a lovely place to relax in Thailand.

I only managed one night because of my tight schedule, but I wish I’d had more time. I’m Burmese, so the house felt like home to me, and I had no problem with the accommodation. Aunty is generous and speaks English fluently. She has 30 years of local experience and shared many untold, sad but true stories about the village and the relationship between Burma and Thailand. Her daughter is bright and remarkable too. For a stay that feels more like a typical Asian home than a hotel in Bangkok or elsewhere, this place is a must. It could suit solo backpackers or groups exploring Burma-Mon-Karen-Thai villages, trekking spots, and waterfalls. I’d suggest staying at least four days to really take it in. The morning alms for monks matter, but learning the history between the two countries is valuable too.

The price is reasonable, and the place has a jungle feel. The owner speaks English very well and gave me a warm welcome. I loved her plants so much that before I left, she gave me one along with a cake. Such a lovely family home to stay in 🥰❤️

The place needs a lot of cleaning and maintenance, but the family who runs it are awesome.
