Venus Resort

The staff were really friendly, and breakfast at the restaurant was good and well priced. Had Rin Beach is only a two-minute walk away, yet the area stays calm. We paid 800 baht a night for two people, a very fair price, and the room had two fans. The bathroom is shared, with two toilets that include showers plus a separate shower room. We stayed five days and didn't get room service, but you have to ask for it and we never did. For a backpacker, it's a good room in a great spot for the price. It might cost a little more during the full moon party, but outside that time it's quiet and cheap.

The owners were nice and the location was quiet, close to the beach. Everything else was good, but we found the room without air conditioning much too hot. It felt like a sauna all day and night, so be ready for that if you book one of those rooms.

The bay view is spectacular, and the cottages are set away from the noisy pubs in a fairly quiet spot. Getting up the hill to them is a challenge, though, and a tuk tuk can't make it along the dirt road. From town it's about a five-minute walk, and Haad Rin beach is roughly ten minutes away on foot. We stayed five days. The cottages are simple but have useful things like fans, air conditioning, a kettle, and a refrigerator, plus a little shaded terrace. They smell stuffy at first, but airing them out takes care of it. Monkeys came by every morning and thankfully weren't harmful. Feeding them isn't allowed.

It's still close to the center of haad rin, about a ten-minute walk, but far enough away to avoid the mess. The place is cozy and beautiful, and despite being up the hill, the sea is literally three minutes away with great food options nearby. One tip: bring earplugs if you're in room 303 or higher. Sound carries uphill, and you can clearly hear the party hotel next door playing bad 2000s radio music 🤣
