Phi Phi Long Beach Resort and Villa

I wouldn’t stay here for the price. The place is worn out, old, and unhygienic, and even the newer rooms seem poorly built. The toilet drains haven’t been done properly, so the room smells like a sewer. I’m pretty sure the bed we had had bugs, too. A family of rude monkeys may come by and take your belongings if they don’t find food. Avoid.

The beach and setting were what made this stay worthwhile: beautiful water, lovely sand, and a peaceful feel. I saw sea urchins while snorkeling, so water shoes are a good idea. We went into the central area once and immediately knew it wasn’t for us. It was crowded, loud, and chaotic. In my view, the Long Beach area is a much better fit for a 5-6 day holiday, especially with all the day-trippers coming from Krabi, Phuket, and nearby places. Other parts of Phi Phi felt overcrowded and noisy. I paid 60 USD per night, which I thought was a very good deal for the location, breakfast, and overall quality. The room was roomy, though construction details were unfinished in places: cracks, chips, bare surfaces, and panels that could have been fitted better. I’d booked two single beds, but that room wasn’t available when we arrived. The hotel gave us an extra bed at no charge, so we had a king plus a single, with enough room. Housekeeping worked carefully every day, cleanliness stayed consistent, and the air conditioning was good. The shower was just an open floor without a screen, but acceptable for this price and an island with limited logistics. Electricity was reliable, but Wi-Fi only worked near reception. My room was farther up the hill and had no signal at all, which was the biggest disappointment, so I had to use mobile data. Reception and restaurant staff were friendly. There’s a free transfer from the main pier during check-in and checkout hours. We chose long-tail taxis instead to avoid relying on the schedule, paying 120 THB per person in the daytime and 150 THB in the evening. Staff met us at the beach when we arrived by boat and brought our luggage to the room. A 100 THB tip seemed fair for the heat and distance over the sand. There are good cafes around the hotel. To the right along the beach, we found a small, cozy place where we ate regularly without problems. I wouldn’t eat in the main tourist center, where food hygiene complaints are common. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, good coffee, fresh fruit, usually dragon fruit and watermelon or pineapple and watermelon, solid continental choices, and a few Thai dishes. It kept us full until late afternoon. There is a pool, but I didn’t use it because I wasn’t sure how often the water was changed. The rooms are located uphill, and overall I found the Long Beach area comfortable and balanced. I highly recommend this hotel, and suggest reading reviews for this particular part of the island before booking.

The room was dirty and didn’t look like the pictures. We were given only two small towels. I paid 7500 bath in December 2025, and for this room’s quality I’d say 1000 baht max. At that price, save your time and money and look at other options.

The best thing about our room was its view. Inside, it was dated and badly in need of an update, and I was disappointed by how dirty it was. Dust had built up in piles on the desk, end tables, and TV stand. The TV wasn’t even plugged in and didn’t work, and the coffee cups were dirty as well.
