The staff at breakfast were so friendly and helpful, with both European and Asian options. The village was easy to get around on foot, with plenty of places to eat and a 7-11 nearby. We hired a moped easily and explored the beautiful island, though the dumped rubbish, fly-tipped items, and day-tripper leftovers everywhere were disappointing. For a national park, the hotels that monopolise the island should take some responsibility, along with careless tourists. We stayed a week during a month of travel. The transfer from the port was easy: the hotel arranged a lounge and ferry-style boat transfer. It was slow, but had nice views. Check-in took a long time. We were told to take an early transfer, but our room wasn’t ready and we waited for hours at a nearby beach club. Our premium suite was large and well looked after, but the view was just part of a wall, which wasn’t great for the price. My husband had arranged and paid for flowers for our anniversary on Valentine’s Day, but they never arrived, so he was disappointed. The beach had soft white sand, though the waves could get quite strong. Boat trips dropped people off all day, while evenings and midweek were much calmer. The pools looked nice, but felt enclosed, and we preferred the beach and views. The pathways were a bit dangerous and wouldn’t suit someone with poor mobility.

Pepe made us feel especially welcome, and the evening entertainment was a real highlight. The acoustic live show is on almost every night, and the singer has a beautiful voice. The fire show starts at 8:30 PM and is well worth seeing. There’s also a great balance of lively fun and quiet relaxation for families, with three pools, a fitness center, and a spa. The beachside location is probably the best on the island. We could walk everywhere, step straight onto the beach, and choose from loads of restaurants along the shore. Our stay at Sai Kaew Beach Resort was 10/10, and we couldn’t have asked for more from the service, music, and beach atmosphere. Highly recommend. PS, island-hopping speedboat trips can be found near the closest 7-11.

The evening live bands and fire show were lots of fun, and K’Pae in the breakfast area was kind and helpful. Breakfast itself was only okay, and the breakfast line could be better organized. We had a good stay overall, though the hotel feels a bit pricey for a place that’s getting old and needs upkeep. We stayed in the premier wing. The room was spacious and clean, but the balcony was dirty. For my partner’s birthday, the hotel made a lovely bed arrangement with flowers. I brought the balloon myself, and they gave us a small cake on the house that we enjoyed at the beachside restaurant. Thanks for that. The location was pretty good, and the transfer boat they arranged made getting around easy. Front desk staff were a mixed bag: some were friendly and helpful, while others didn’t seem to want to help at all. When my partner asked for a first aid kit for a small injury I got at the pool, they said they didn’t have one. That’s not good for a four-star place, and they should address it. A first aid kit matters in an emergency. There was no first aid kit at the hotel, so bring your own.

The staff were the best part for us. Everyone, from the front desk and housekeeping to the security guards, was friendly, attentive, smiling, and professional. The Mango Restaurant team deserves a special mention for being quick, clean, graceful, and careful with every detail. We had a wonderful four days and three nights. Our Deluxe Room was excellent, with lots of power outlets, strong water pressure, hot water that came quickly, and blackout curtains that made it dark and cozy for a good night’s sleep. The resort also has three pools, a gym with clean, new equipment, and a delicious ice cream shop our family visited every day. Breakfast was a satisfying, full spread. We’ll definitely stay here again.

We’ve been coming back with our group of 25 for three years in a row, and will return again. The resort is very well run and has something for everyone. Khun Vit, Ice, Gai, Ram, and Pae are especially friendly and attentive. Breakfast is the best we’ve had anywhere for both quality and variety. On our last stay, 24/12-1/1/26, the band and singers were excellent and great fun, five stars. The cottages on the far side are comfortable, but starting to look a little worn, especially the shower rooms. A lighter cream exterior would be a nice refresh.
