The C Samet Beach Resort

We came as a family with a child and had another fantastic stay at c samet. The people there are really nice, and the beach is peaceful. The room also has a beautiful view. There are some good restaurant and coffee options along the beach, and we hope to stay again soon.

The air conditioning was quiet, and the location is on the calmer side of the beach. Those were the bright spots. Everywhere else, the grounds felt neglected and scorched, with almost no greenery apart from by reception, and there was a sewage smell across the property. Staff seemed not to care, and nobody spoke English. Breakfast was poor, with no fresh coffee, very limited choices, and the same food every day. There weren't enough sunbeds either. We paid 1000thb/night for an extra bed and got a mattress on the floor with synthetic sheets that had holes. The free kayaks weren't maintained: ours sank about 100 m from shore, so we had to swim back carrying it full of water. Nobody checked whether we were okay. I can't recommend this resort. You pay more than you get, and the staff's carelessness points to poor management.

We planned to spend one night at The C Samet, but wound up staying three because it was so relaxing. Chris was a very attentive host.

The only thing we liked was the view. We were there with small children, and mosquitoes were a real problem. There were no nets in the rooms, and we were bitten all over. The staff didn't seem to care even after we complained. It was very expensive, with no value for money. I'd suggest looking at the other hotels on the beach.
