Tubtim Resort

I left Tubtim today after my first stay, with mixed feelings. The staff were very friendly, from the front desk to the gardeners, and the rooms were nice, though the water pressure could be better. There are cats and an old dog at the resort, and they’re lovely. Breakfast was very good on my first day, with cheese and cold cuts. When I arrived around 9 the next morning, there weren’t any cold cuts. Maybe that was too late, since I’d gone at about 7:30 the day before. The resort was very full, and it was super annoying to see people reserving sunbeds. My photos were taken at 8 in the morning, when obviously nobody was there. The resort should remove towels from beds, especially since there aren’t enough for everyone.

For a quieter break during Songkran, this resort was a good choice, away from parties and loud music. We spent three days there, and most of the guests seemed to be farangs in their prime years. The location is about 500 m from Nadan pier. We paid 200 baht for the green songtheaw taxi, which is the flag-down rate for every trip. The cabin was okay, with a separate bed for my son. Water pressure was good, though using the bucket and “tabo” or scooper worked better. Breakfast was decent, with some variety, from salad to overnight oats. Bring mosquito body spray unless you want to be their dinner.

The bungalow we came for exceeded all my expectations. It’s tucked among the jungle, and the bed faces the sea, which is incredibly relaxing. The place is peaceful, with birds and cicadas to hear every day. This was my dream kind of holiday: a beautiful beach, clear blue water, and room to swim and unwind without noisy crowds or too many people around.

We came as a family for one night and ended up staying four. The hosts and staff made us feel grateful to be there. It’s a secluded spot with a clean beach and stunning views, but everyday conveniences are only a five-minute walk along the promenade: restaurants, bars, a supermarket, massage, and motorbike and jet ski rentals. Fresh fruit and coconuts are sold on the beach at good prices, and you can get a massage there too. 7/11 is about a 15-minute walk away. Our bungalow had comfortable beds, working AC, and everything we needed. The restaurant was a real pleasure: delicious food, lots of choice, lovely presentation, generous portions, excellent service, and fair prices. We highly recommend this little paradise! 🌴
