Amaya resort

The pool area, grounds, and room were all very clean, and the grounds were lovely. But at €50 a night with breakfast, the value didn’t quite add up for me. The room wasn’t maintained in every detail, with limescale on the shower fittings and sink. I’ve had better for this price in Thai hotels. Breakfast was good on the first morning, with cereal, fruit, croissants, chocolate rolls, and baguettes. There was only butter, two kinds of jam, and Nutella, so I missed having cheese and ham. Staff offered orange juice, eggs, and bacon. The next morning, much of the buffet was gone, including fruit and muesli. At checkout, when I raised it, I was told I should have asked for anything I wanted because the buffet had been reduced to limit food waste, especially fruit. I can understand that for fruit, but not really for muesli. Good service shouldn’t require guests to figure out all the options themselves. A small menu or a waiter explaining what’s available would help. I also wasn’t given all the relevant information at check-in and had to ask that evening when breakfast was served. The laundry service, though, was quick and worked well.

We loved having a room right beside the pool, so we could step out and jump straight in. It had a cozy, homey feel, with a TV that had Netflix. The boho-chic decor was charming, and the details added to the relaxed atmosphere. The staff were warm and welcoming, and made us feel at home. We had a lovely time and would come back.

The resort was tucked away from the busy roads, which made it very quiet, though Lamai's center was only a few minutes away by motorbike. Our room was clean and matched its description, and the price felt fair. Everyone was caring and kept checking whether we needed help. I’d book here again anytime.

Leo and Valentine are great, hospitable guys. The owners and staff were so welcoming and friendly that I’m staying here again.
