Arkbar Beach Resort Hotel

Our group of 12 had an amazing New Year’s Eve here, and we’d gladly return if we get the chance. It’s a well-maintained resort complex with plenty of facilities, in an excellent location near the beach. A few things could be better. Some rooms have a damp, moldy smell that goes away only when the air conditioning is on. I think it may come from the bathroom, which doesn’t seem to have proper ventilation. Our rooms were also fairly close to the bar, and the music, including the bass, came through loudly until around 2 AM. Keep that in mind if you want complete quiet. The fire show is beautiful, but on our last evening the wind carried such a strong diesel or gasoline smell that we had to move to another terrace. Maybe the show could be replaced with something that doesn’t pollute the air, or cancelled when conditions aren’t right. People don’t come here just for the show anyway.

We’ve had so much fun here that we extended our stay. It’s a fun, lively place for young travelers who enjoy music and nightlife. We usually come for birthdays, book a night, catch the ocean breeze, and join the evening beach party. The fire shows, tasty cocktails, and good food are part of the appeal. The strawberry daiquiri is a must-try! Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the location in the heart of Chaweng made it easy to walk everywhere. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was noisy until about 2 AM because we were near the pool, but that didn’t bother us much. The shower’s hot-water pressure was a minor issue. By day, the place is calm and relaxed. At night it turns into a lively spot that’s great for EDM fans. Breakfast was great, and the restaurant consistently served good food, with choices for everyone, including vegetarian and vegan dishes. A great pick if you want to be in the middle of Chaweng nightlife.

The beach setting is peaceful, but at Ark Bar it turns into a lively party scene after dark. Energetic DJ sets and beach-party vibes mix with the ocean backdrop, and the festivities often carry on until around 2 or 3 AM. It’s a memorable late-night option if you want an easygoing setting with plenty of energy. Ko Samui is generally quieter than Phuket, Pattaya, or Bangkok, though there are places on the island that bring a livelier feel. Ark Bar is one of them, right on the beach and known for its after-dark atmosphere.

We went to the parties at ARKbar twice during our five-day stay in Ko Samui, and both visits were great. There’s an international crowd, decent music, though don’t expect too much quality, and fair prices for a big party place like this.
