Blockhouse Samui

The managers were outstanding, friendly, professional, responsive, and always ready to help. They really care about guests and made me feel welcome from start to finish. Block House was exactly as expected and even better: clean, comfortable, well designed, and great for a relaxing stay. I had an amazing experience and highly recommend this accommodation. Fantastic place and top-quality management, 10/10!

I felt at home at Blockhouse Samui, and I'll be back! The crew were so welcoming and generous with their time. Sola did a great job making sure guests were looked after and knew how to get around and what to do. Elle was lovely too, caring about the guests and the house. There are a couple of cats on the property you'll probably fall for and want to take home. It was easy to walk around or arrange transport. The high street is a 5 minute walk, and the beach is another 4 minutes beyond that, with restaurants, markets, and shops all around. Thank you, BlockHouse samui!

An easy check-in and a really nice stay for exploring northern Samui. The two women who own or work at the place were lovely and helpful. We had a double room that was clean, nicely decorated, and air conditioned. There was also a very friendly, cute cat at the hostel.

We spent a couple of nights at Blockhouse Samui, but can't recommend it unless you're mainly there to party. The 10 bed dormitory is cramped, with beds right beside each other. Curtains only cover some sides, so you may have to share one with the neighboring bed and end up exposed, as I did. We contacted the hostel well before arrival to ask if my wife and I could share a bunk, one on the lower and one on the upper level. We got no reply and were assigned two separate random beds. It's not a huge issue, but communication should have been better. There are no quiet hour signs after 10pm or at any other time, and lots of party people stay here. We were unlucky to share a room with groups coming in during the night, switching on lights, making noise, and showing no respect for others. The hostel is connected to a restaurant where people hang around past 10pm, and the staff make noise too. The AC only runs at night, so the room isn't usable during the day. It's also very dark, and sheets aren't changed at all.
