Baan Sala Lung Dam Resort

There was no water at 11 pm, and there was nobody available to help or contact. We hadn't been given any information about this beforehand. That's unacceptable.

A really good little family resort. The bed and bedding were excellent, and the room had a new TV, fridge, kettle and hairdryer. It's easy to get around from here, with a 7-Eleven, Fisherman's Village and the beach nearby. There's also a cafe that bakes its own pastries, plus a yoga studio.

We've been living here for six months and have made such a cozy home that we have no plans to move. The Thai-style houses start at 10,000 baht, plus electricity, with the price varying. The landlady is kind and responsive when we ask for something. A 7/11 is two minutes away by bike, and there's a school and Easy Days kindergarten nearby.

The hostess is a lovely, warm and friendly Thai woman, and the pool is clean. There's plenty of parking for cars and bikes. The two-bedroom houses can fit bikes, though rather tightly if you need to keep them inside. The houses are in basic condition, and the biggest problem is the noise from the road right next to the resort. You hear bikes and cars during the day and, less often, at night. Traffic gets heavy after 7 a.m. Closing the windows and turning on the air conditioning doesn't do much when a car or bike with a sports muffler goes past.
