Best Western Chaweng Samui

The rooms are so poorly soundproofed that you can hear everything happening next door. The towels were a bit yellow, and breakfast is just a word for it, not worth visiting for. It might do for a short stay, but I’d personally suggest spending your time and money somewhere else.

It’s a clean, welcoming hotel with friendly staff, and you can walk to everything. The beach is also just a short walk away. I’d recommend giving this hotel a try.

I’d just checked in for ten days and was dreading the stay. The hotel is on the main street, where pubs and bars compete for customers with loud music, mixed with motorbike and car noise. A family gets just one key card for the room. The TV is an old analogue set with no casting or video apps, so you can’t even block out the noise with a film or series. The staff are helpful, and the hotel looks modern and is well managed and clean. It does need some upgrades, like smart TVs and better bathroom showers. The room’s power only works when the RFID card is in its slot, so you can’t leave the air conditioning running while you’re out. Coming back to a hot room isn’t pleasant. Update: The noise wasn’t as bad as I feared. Some nights were louder than others, but I got used to it pretty quickly. A big high five to all the friendly staff.

The location was good, but cleanliness needs to improve. Ants were all over the room, including on surfaces and near the bed. We told the staff, but the problem continued throughout our stay.
