Feels like home.

I've been here for three years, staying on my own for long stretches, and it's been nothing but a happy experience. Really good value for the money.

The biggest issue is the service. If you have a request or complaint, don't expect anyone to get back to you. The cottages are also close together on a small plot, so it can feel crowded in high season. And Bophut Beach here isn't the best for kids: the water gets deep quickly and there's a yacht dock close by. We stayed in the red house, which had a pleasant layout and two bathrooms with showers. The kitchen was fully equipped, with a large fridge and ice maker, plus panoramic doors opening onto the veranda. There was also a washing machine, shaker, and internet-connected TV in the living room for cartoons and games. The landscaping was green and pretty, with hedges between the houses giving some privacy. The grounds were kept clean, as were the two separate pools. One six-meter pool is shared by three houses. House cleaning is included every 3-4 days, depending on your luck. It's about 100 meters from the ring road, and the walk to the sea via Kaktus resort takes 5-7 minutes. Shops, food, a pharmacy, and currency exchange are nearby. The guys on the corner run a Famili-Mart, which is great. If you're not planning to visit other beaches, you can manage without a bike or car. Nights are quiet, with just the sounds of nature. I do wonder why they chose two small pools instead of one 12-meter shared pool, since Russian guests and their kids don't distinguish between them. For the price, it's a decent resort.
