Chaweng Park Place

The staff were kind, and I felt a really peaceful energy here. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and the lake next door is good for a morning jog. It’s only about a 10-minute walk to Chaweng’s side beach road, so you’re far enough away from the noise to have quiet nights. Loved staying here, I recommend it.

The area was crowded, with high priced food that wasn’t tasty, and locals who seemed unfriendly when we tried to buy something. The beach was packed with people and bars, so there was no relaxing there either. Everything was loud, everywhere. I love Bangkok, which can be loud too, but this was just yuck. If I’d known what a nasty place Chaweng had become, I’d have skipped it. My stay was miserable with the constant noise and dirt. There was no breakfast or bar, and the halls smelled moldy and were dirty, with spiderwebs. The air conditioning was very loud, furniture was broken, and noise from the busy street came through even with the windows shut. The pool didn’t look like the lovely photos at all: its surface was peeling all over, there were no stairs on one side, and the plastic sunbeds had piles of dirt and filthy mattresses. I can’t see how anyone could relax swimming there. I’m posting here because Agoda wouldn’t publish my review. Hmm. That selectiveness never feels fair.

The price is low and the hotel is fair, with average rooms and friendly staff. There’s some street noise at night, but the restaurant next door is really good.

The location is amazing and most of the staff were great, but the room was only okay and not what was advertised. It’s a shame, because this hotel could be amazing with some investment. The pool water was oily and dirty, and tiles were peeling off the wall. We found a TV in our first room but none in the second, even though we were told there were no TVs in any room. The setup didn’t match what was shown online, and there were missing taps and water, broken chairs and other items. The pool bar, restaurant and breakfast weren’t there either, or belonged to other companies. The biggest issue was that £500 went missing after we asked for the TV to be checked because it had no channels. We would have used the safe, but it didn’t work. Security was very bad. Such a big shame.
