Chaweng Residence

The place itself is lovely and peaceful, close to the beach and the services you might need. Roberto was a fantastic host, always ready to help with ordinary things or unusual requests. I'd happily come back as soon as I can.

The room was full of mosquitoes, the fittings felt old, and the air conditioning didn't work properly. Noise from other guests in the corridor in the middle of the night kept interrupting my sleep. I ended up leaving four days early because the stay was so bad. Before I arrived, the property had confirmed in writing that housekeeping would come daily. Once there, I was told rooms were cleaned only every two days. I wouldn't have booked if I'd known. Leaving at short notice meant paying extra for another hotel at last-minute rates, plus transport, and dealing with a lot of stress and inconvenience. What should have been a peaceful holiday was ruined. The hotel should take responsibility for misrepresenting its services and refund me for the nights I didn't stay. Until it does, I can't recommend it to anyone.

There are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance, plus a small night market. Central shopping is about 1.5 km away, and the beach is maybe 2 km from the hotel. It's a cute little place right in the heart of chaweng, with a good choice of rooms for a few nights, a budget trip, or even a longer monthly stay. The rooms are pretty spacious for the price, and the staff are friendly and helpful. They can set up transport or tours if you want. Breakfast and dinner were recently added, and outside guests can eat there too. Prices are fair, the food is really tasty, and the coffee and pastries are great. I especially recommend the tom yang gung for dinner. A place I'd confidently recommend.

It felt calm here, while still being close to the busy Samui scene. The hotel and room were fresh and super clean, and staff were always around cleaning. The pool was cleaned every other day, possibly daily. The gym was good enough for what I wanted to do. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. I'd definitely stay again if I visit Samui.
