Escape Beach Resort

The pool and beach views are the main draw here, and the pool area is great. The bar has good cocktails, though they’re a little pricey. Breakfast is a small buffet with good quality food, and the staff are friendly, polite, and provide very good service. Our bungalow was modern, well equipped, and had a very comfortable bed. We weren’t beachfront, but the complex is small, so that wasn’t a problem. Housekeeping came every day and cleanliness was very good. It’s a fantastic hotel, but getting around isn’t ideal without a scooter, and there’s a huge hill up to the hotel.

We had a mixed stay at the end of December 2025. The staff were very friendly and quick to help, and the bungalows were modern and clean, though we did find two large cockroaches in our room during our five nights. Breakfast was very good, with a different cooked Thai option and juices each day. Restaurant food was tasty, but the portions felt a bit small for me. Prices were already somewhat high, so the 10% service fee felt excessive. The resort offers a transfer to Nathon Pier for 500 baht for three people. There are some practical things to know. The grounds are compact, with bungalows close together, and the pool area is dense, so you’re near other guests. Many families stay here, so expect some noise from small children, including the occasional crying. The breakfast and restaurant seating can also get busy and crowded. It’s a short uphill walk to the main street, so renting a scooter or ordering a grab taxi is practical. All in all, there are better hotels in the area for the same or less.

The sea view and the friendly women working at the cafe were the only real positives for us. This didn’t feel like a resort. Staff barely spoke to us, including in English, and seemed unfriendly, like they didn’t want to be there. The bungalows felt more like camping than a hotel, with hardly any room inside. There was mold in the shower, and humidity had made the floor rotten and swollen, scraping our feet. By the pool, bass-heavy Ibiza lounge music played constantly and was overstimulating. There were lots of young families with active, loud kids around the beach and pool, so keep that in mind if that’s not the atmosphere you want. The hotel is far from everything, and walking to the main road takes around 30 minutes, so a scooter is recommended.

The restaurant was a good part of the stay, with tasty food, cocktails, and kind, helpful staff. The location works well for the beach, though getting into town means going up and down a bit. The route does give you some really nice views. Rooms were good and the bed was comfortable, but the AC sits to one side of the bed and can feel pretty chilly. The bathroom is small, warms up quickly, and could use a movable shower head. The first pool I've seen that's open 24/7!
