Lamai Inn 99 Bungalows

We stayed five nights, had no problems, and enjoyed it. The rooms were dated but neat and tidy, the air conditioning worked, and the beds were comfortable. The grounds were nice and the pool area was great. The location is amazing, with the beach and restaurants just across the road. I'd recommend it for the location alone.

The room was good, and the bed sheets were clean, but the walls weren't very clean and the rooms could use a refurbishment. There are loads of cicadas in the trees making loud screeching noises. Around 10 p.m., they fall onto the stairs by the room, so if bugs bother you, don't stay here.

The beach area was great, the pool was nice, and we were very close to the beach. Our room was cleaned every day. I only wish there had been beach chairs and bigger beach towels.

I told the staff about the ants in our pool-facing room in the building on the left. I know ants are common, so when I saw them heading into my makeup bag, I sprayed bug spray. That brought loads more out from the bathroom mirror, which was clearly infested. The receptionist sent cleaners, but when I got back, the dead bugs were still there along with live ones, so I cleaned it myself. We extended our stay in another room, and thankfully that one was fine.
