Lotus Friendly Hotel

Breakfast was included in our booking, and signs in the rooms even advertised a breakfast buffet in the restaurant. But when we went there, we were told breakfast was no longer available. We also had two different rooms. The first was a family room with an almost unbearable smell, and despite the hotel advertising renovated rooms, it didn’t seem renovated. The second room smelled a little better. Well.

The rooftop view was a nice bonus, and breakfast was tasty. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the vibe was relaxed, and the location made it easy to explore. Williams on the staff was always smiling, helpful with tips, and made check-in easy. I loved staying at Lotus Friendly Hotel and will be back next time I’m in town!

The location is decent, but all the problems made this stay not worth it, and I’d never stay here again. There’s no reception after 10 PM, and calls just cut off after a couple of rings. Checkout is at 11 AM, and they wanted 200 baht for an extra hour, even though noon is usually the standard checkout time at most places in Thailand. They also required a 3,000 baht deposit despite my entire three-night stay costing less than 2,500 baht. The cheapest room put me in a back building, which I accepted, but the issues started as soon as I got there. The polyester sheets were uncomfortable, and the pillow was huge and stiff, with no way for my neck to rest properly. After the first night I was sneezing and woke up with a blocked nose. My friend noticed dust coming from the air conditioner the next day. I reported it to reception, and they tried to fix it while I was out, but forgot to reconnect the water hose. When I came back and showered, the whole room was wet. That was completely unacceptable and dangerous. The dust, water, and discomfort ruined the stay.

I spent seven nights at Lotus Friendly Hotel, where the rooms were clean and kept up every day. They sit among trees and beautiful blooming frangipani, which made the stay even nicer. The hotel is just two steps from the beach, in the quiet northern part of the high street, so there wasn’t too much noise at night. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Williams and Zoey were always doing their best to help, and their service never faltered. A big thank you to the whole team.
