Mandalay Beach Villas

Villa Soong felt like a sanctuary. We could relax by the pool, enjoy the ocean views, and appreciate the villa’s open layout and spacious feel. It has three comfortable, private bedrooms, well suited to a family or a group of friends. The place had all the amenities we needed, and the staff were wonderfully attentive. The villa is nicely tucked away, with a private beach feel, while still close to popular restaurants and attractions. David, the host, proactively shared helpful suggestions for excursions and places to eat, and was always there for questions. Champ drove us on a private tour and showed us great sights and local gems that weren’t on our itinerary. Kob was friendly and excellent as our housekeeper. She made the beds, changed towels, cleaned, and prepared breakfast each day with coffee, fresh fruit, and eggs cooked any style. Her Thai food was another highlight, and she catered to our dietary needs. After a day exploring the island, the team made it easy to unwind. It was a luxurious, unforgettable holiday, and we’d happily book again and recommend the villa to family and friends.

Our three young children loved the pool’s shallow deck, and the staff even watched them while we got a massage. We couldn’t be happier at Mandalay Beach Villas in Ko Samui Thailand. The beachfront location is AMAZING, the food they make here is top notch, and both the staff and owner are incredible. We’ll definitely be back!

This was the worst rental experience I’ve had, and it ended with the owner taking a large amount of money from us at checkout. We stayed last month and checked out march 1st, less than a month ago. I normally wouldn’t write a review like this, but I don’t want anyone else to go through what happened to us. The place was sold as a luxury villa, but it was badly neglected. We had no hot water for the first two weeks. The stove, fridge, TV, entertainment system, shower, bathtub, and lights around the property didn’t work for most of our stay. There were plenty of other problems too, too many to list here. I have photo albums showing how dirty, broken, rusty, and neglected it was. When we politely asked the owner to deal with these issues, she threatened us and was extremely rude. She even disparaged her own family. Then, at checkout, she scammed us out of a large amount of money, including a surprise excess towel charge. The owner and agents acted in a literally criminal way. Stay away.
