Panya Resort

Lovely people and very clean. The only issue was that the microwave doesn’t work.

The privacy is one of the things I love most here. Panya Resort sits in a tropical garden that’s carefully looked after every day, and the trees and flowers make each villa or apartment feel like its own little hideaway. I’ve been coming back for years, and it’s the best place I’ve found on Koh Samui. There’s a cosy cafe on site with what I honestly think is the best coffee in the area. Anyone can stop by, not just guests. They also serve tasty breakfasts and meals, so you can stay in if you like. The whole place has a warm, family-like feel. The owners and staff are kind, attentive and genuinely welcoming. They can sort out airport transfers and take care of whatever you need during your stay. There are two pools at the resort, and some villas have their own private pool. It was recently renovated, with options ranging from cosy to more luxurious. The beach, restaurants, shops and pharmacies are within walking distance. You can rent a car or scooter on site, and the self-service laundry is a real help on longer stays. This is more than somewhere to sleep, it’s a place you’ll want to return to again and again. ❤️

We were very happy with our March stay in Villa No. 3 with our family. Before arriving, we weren’t sure what to expect, since there aren’t many photos of the accommodation online. One thing we especially liked was the private setting, with tropical plants and trees everywhere, all regularly maintained. The location was quiet but just a few steps from the center of Choeng Mon, and it was about an 8-10 minute walk to the beach. The resort staff were kind and helpful. They arranged airport transfers and have cars and scooters for rent. There’s also a laundry room and a cafe/restaurant serving the best coffee in the area, along with tasty breakfasts and a few other meals. The resort has a large apartment building with a pool and many separate bungalows, some with pools and some without. Villa No. 3 was listed as having three bedrooms, but it’s laid out as a main house and an adjacent villa. The main house has a combined living room and kitchen, one double bedroom and a modern bathroom. Large glass doors lead from the living area to the pool terrace. The second villa, accessed across the terrace, has another spacious bedroom and bathroom. Since we had small children and couldn’t leave them alone in that separate villa, we ended up using only the main house. The resort kindly provided a baby crib for our son, and our daughter slept on the couch. I think the layout would work really well for a group of adults or older children, since everyone would have their own privacy. The house had enough equipment and storage, including a TV, fridge, freezer, stove, kettle, microwave, toaster, basic kitchen items, laundry drying racks and a hairdryer. There was air conditioning in every room. It was very clean, and during our month there it was cleaned regularly, with toilet paper and bottled water replenished. They also cleaned the pool regularly, and the water was a very pleasant temperature. It’s a real pity there’s so little information about the accommodation options at this resort.
