Pattra Vill Resort

We liked the roomy room, our balcony, and the lovely pool and gardens. The shower wasn't great, though it wasn't a major issue. There was some noise from the bar across the street, but the air conditioning helped block it out. It's close to good seafood and the beach, and breakfast was okay.

We were only there for two nights while passing through, which was enough for us. The hotel felt old and worn, and it was ridiculously expensive for what it offered, despite having four stars. Breakfast was so bad we skipped it. The cappuccino was almost impossible to drink, and the poached eggs were nothing special; the second one was clearly off, so we left. The area outside the gate was dirty and run-down, smelled of pot, and had drunk people around. I also found the guests mostly low quality, with heavy tattoos and signs of years of alcohol and substance abuse. The hotel insisted on inspecting our room before we could leave, something we’d never encountered before. Maybe this is the kind of holiday some people want, but otherwise I’d stay well away.

A really lovely place, tucked into greenery, with a nice pool and such friendly staff. It’s also handy for the beach and nearby restaurants. Would happily recommend it. 🌴🫶🏻

The room was dated but clean, and the staff were very friendly right up to checkout. Then they made us wait in the taxi until they finished inspecting the room, which took much longer than expected considering how clean we’d left it. The hotel itself is mediocre and sits in the center of Lamai, an area of Koh Samui that’s been badly affected by prostitution and drugs. Breakfast and the facilities were well below average, especially for the high prices.
