The shower and restaurant are very good. But guests aren’t allowed at night, and the walls are thin, so it isn’t quiet. There’s no elevator. The air conditioner didn’t work, so ask for the cheaper fan room instead. The laundry woman charged me 30 baht too much, which I didn’t mind at the time, but she also burned my shirt while ironing it.

You get a clean, functional room with air conditioning, a decent choice of TV channels and a balcony. Why pay double or triple for a hotel only 10 minutes closer to the busy town? You can rent a scooter for under 200 baht a day, so do the maths. I really recommend this place for a clean, practical stay.

There was a used toothpick and a beer cap on top of the fridge, and the fridge was dirty too. They wouldn’t let me check out 30 minutes late so they could “have time to clean the room.” I have to wonder whether the rooms ever get cleaned. Wouldn’t recommend it.

For Samui island and the Chaweng area, this hostel is a good deal. It was THB 600 when booking directly with the hotel, or about THB 580 on Agoda, which is what I paid. The free breakfast in the morning is a great extra. Room A4 was quiet and had a nice balcony for smokers, though it looked straight at the restaurant and the next building. The room had fans only, plus a decent-sized fridge for cold drinks. There’s also a restaurant, massage shop and tour center on site.
