Rattana Guesthouse & Bungalow

The food at the guest house is worth trying, it’s made with fresh produce, well prepared, and reasonably priced. The beach is about a five-minute walk away, and the location also works if you want a livelier evening on the strip. The place itself feels beautiful, tranquil, and serene, good for couples or solo travellers. From the warm welcome when I arrived through the rest of my stay, the friendly, attentive staff were lovely. I had an amazing time at Rattana and would definitely stay again, without hesitation. I’d give it 10 stars if I could 🙏🇨🇷

The staff were kind and did try to help. The owner moved me to a separate bungalow when I asked to get away from the renovation, and staff brought ant spray. That earns the extra star, but I still couldn’t relax here, which is why my rating is low. I arrived, unpacked, and started my vacation, then suddenly heard a drill. There was major work right behind my wall, including walls being demolished, and nobody warned me at check-in. After a full day of that noise, I asked to change rooms the next day because I couldn’t relax. The bungalow brought its own problems. There were ants, and the internet kept disconnecting after a few minutes, no matter which of the property’s routers I used. Worse, pigeons in the cottage cooed from 5 a.m. each morning as the sun came up. I had to go out repeatedly to chase them away just to get a few more minutes of sleep. I was woken at 5 every day of my vacation. The hotel is in Koh Samui’s entertainment district, with lots of bars and nightlife. I wanted to enjoy that, but if I came back late, I knew I wouldn’t sleep at all. After a week here, I went straight to the hospital for a drip to help me recover because I was so exhausted. This hotel completely ruined my vacation. That’s no way to live.

The garden at Rattana Guesthouse in Chaweng is lush, carefully kept, and full of charming little corners. It gives the place a magical feel, and the terraces are lovely for sitting quietly and enjoying the surroundings. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. The location is close to the beach, restaurants, and shops, but still peaceful. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. A great choice if you’re looking for comfort, beauty, and a relaxing stay in Chaweng.

The pool is clean, quiet, and really nice. Everyone on staff was amazing, helpful, and friendly. Lovely hotel in a great location. Thank you!! 🙏
