Sea Breeze Bungalow

We tried to cross through to the beach with our children, who were tired from walking, although a sign says access is for hotel residents only. The owner confronted us and said we couldn’t go through because it was his land, and that this was the last time we could pass. I’ve never met another local who was that rude. The hotel itself wasn’t great either. Its only good point was direct beach access.

A lovely, quiet place right by the beach, with a five-minute walk to the main bar and restaurant. The family who run it gave us a nice welcome, and the prices were very fair. There’s a 24-hour supermarket at the entrance. Perfect.

We were walking back from our hotel and thought this was the best way to reach the street we needed. My partner and I didn’t realize the path through the property was only for guests, and we apologized as soon as the owner confronted us. He came out of the bar and kept shouting, saying he might let us through this once but wanted to make his point first. We decided to return to the beach and find another route. Even as we walked away, he continued shouting at us in front of his customers. If my partner hadn’t been there, I’d have found the encounter terrifying on my own. We’re both apologetic people, and I can only imagine how it might have gone if we’d answered his rude remarks and unnecessary tone. People in Thailand have been so friendly throughout our long, positive experience here, which made this especially disappointing. A business owner with that attitude doesn’t deserve friendly customers. Avoid this place.

The owners and service were lovely, and the hotel has a private beach in a great location. A lot of the bad reviews seem to come from people who aren’t guests and missed the signs. Try the Piya special iced mocha 🤤. I’d recommend it for a cheap and cheerful stay.
