Thai House Beach Resort

The location is fabulous, right at the best part of lamai beach. Rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are lovely, and the food and drinks are great. Breakfast has just enough choice. The massage ladies beside the hotel are the best. The kids’ pool could be easier to get in and out of.

We liked Thai House so much that we returned for a few more nights after Ko Tao, and they even upgraded our room. It’s a quiet hotel tucked away from the main road, but you can walk either way to live music, bars, and a night market in just minutes. The beachfront setting is lovely, and the location is perfect. On arrival they welcomed us with a warm towel and a completely hot tea. The staff are delightful, the rooms very clean and well kept, and breakfast was excellent. There’s a wonderful massage by the beach and a fire show on selected nights too. I wouldn’t book anywhere else in Lamai.

I booked only 12 hours ahead without researching much, so I wasn’t expecting a lot, but I was really happy with my choice and had a relaxing five-night stay. The room in the main building was super quiet, with a good bed. It was honestly the best sleep of my three weeks of travel, with no noise at all. The hotel is right on a pretty calm beach with sunbeds, and there are more beds by the pool. The sunrise is amazing. There’s greenery around the balcony and garden, so you can hear birds in the morning and have tea on your own terrace. Yet the busy Main Street of Lamai, with loads of food options, is just a minute away. The WiFi was okay, though sometimes I had to switch to 5G for Teams meetings. It’s a bit outdated, but you know that and you don’t pay much. The staff were welcoming, and when I was traveling solo they’d chat with me or compliment my outfits when I dressed up, which was nice. We stayed for nine nights and had a fantastic time. Our room was upgraded for free because of maintenance, and both the room and bathroom were spacious and clean. There was a little patio out front where we could dry clothes, so we did our own laundry. The staff were all exceptionally friendly, and breakfast was excellent. They changed the buffet each day, which gave us lots of variety, including vegetarian choices. The pool and jacuzzi were nice, with direct access to the beach, and there were plenty of sunbeds at both. The location is excellent too, with shops, restaurants, massage places, and the night market just a few minutes’ walk down the road. Highly recommend staying here 😊
