Dd Hut Koh Tao

DD-Hut has a lovely pool with an amazing view, a great location, and very friendly staff. The property is well designed and could be a wonderful place to stay, but we can only give it one star because of the mold in our room. Water leaks from the private balcony pool in the apartment above into the room below, leaving severe moisture and mold. The hotel knows about the problem but still rents the room out. There was also a really bad smell in the bathroom. Apparently the owner is never on site, and reception staff couldn’t fix it. It was extremely disappointing to face such serious health-related issues in an otherwise beautiful place.

We accidentally left something in our room, and the staff quickly mailed it back home for free. Thank you so much! The location was amazing, the room excellent, and the pool lovely. There’s also a great restaurant overlooking the sea.

We paid 4200 THB for one night in a triple room. The room itself was fine, but the windows were dirty, the towels had stains, and the view from the back terrace was of mountains of trash. Our 3-year-old baby got sick in the night and vomited on the sheets. It happened too fast to stop, but we took the sheets off and did our best to clean up. We didn’t damage or break anything, and apart from the sheets we left the room clean. At checkout, they asked us to pay 5,000 THB because our child had been sick. For a luxury hotel, they should make an effort, especially as sheets are meant to be washed between guests and this wasn’t deliberate damage or a broken item. We refused to pay, but they kept our key deposit. The hotel has nice amenities for the price, but it tries to make extra money by ripping off guests. We won’t return.

We stayed three nights, and the cleanliness was below expectations. The shower was dirty, too. We’d paid for a 30 sqm room, but the one we got felt more like 10-15 sqm. Before arrival we emailed and messaged through the Agoda app several times about transport, but got no replies. The day before checkout, we asked on WhatsApp about the free taxi for the next day. They told us to request it at reception. We went there at a reasonable time on checkout day, but the taxi was already full, so we had to pay for another one, even though the free ride had been confirmed the day before.
