The location is the only good thing here. Service was insanely bad: we waited 25 minutes before anyone took our order, and the coconut they brought was rotten. The prices were too high. I can't recommend it.

The room wasn't cleaned automatically, so I had to ask. They were happy to do it once I did, though. The owner was lovely to us but very rude to her staff. I loved the deluxe room, with its rugs and decor that made it feel luxurious. The location was great, too. There's a big beach bar close by, but you couldn't really hear it late at night. Breakfast was delicious, especially the banana pancakes.

The location is great, and our first room was genuinely lovely, but I wouldn't feel confident recommending this place. The customer experience seemed secondary to making money, and there wasn't much flexibility or effort to sort things out when problems came up. We stayed four nights. The next morning after arriving, loud banging at the door abruptly woke us. About five staff members told us we had to move, despite having booked and paid to stay in that room. One staff member watched us pack, and I had to ask her to give us ten minutes to get out of bed and get organized. The whole thing felt intrusive and badly handled. The replacement room was much smaller and felt like a big downgrade. Its bathroom smelled terrible and had a blocked drain, yet we were charged the same rate. When I asked for a reduction, they wouldn't offer a discount, and the only thing I got was a free cocktail. We considered checking out early but stayed. Each day brought another strange or uncomfortable moment. The staff seemed friendly on the surface, but also under a lot of pressure and quite frantic, which affected the atmosphere. On our last day, I was trying to check out quickly for a ferry, but staff questioned me several times about cocktails we'd already paid for the night before. They wouldn't accept that we'd paid, and it was a very stressful end to the stay.

I've stayed here several times, and it's still my first choice when I visit. The newly built rooms are quite good, with really nice interiors and lots of space. The staff are very friendly, and the restaurant food is decent. There are a number of small service issues that could use attention: food and drink orders should be right more often; the bathroom drain smell needs fixing; staff could ask whether guests want the room cleaned, remove the trash, and refill the water bottles daily or provide a dispenser. The key shouldn't be tied to the card, since sometimes you want the AC running or devices charging while you're out. The sink faucet should give a normal, usable stream, and the grey bathroom towels barely absorb water, making it almost impossible to dry off. None of these are big on their own, but together they take away from an otherwise very nice stay with great rooms and extremely friendly staff.
