Koh Tao Heritage Hotel

The location is very good, and the staff were friendly. The rooms weren't great and look much better in the photos than they do in person. We also had trouble with the wet-room bathroom. The shower drained into a hole beside the toilet, and it was blocked when we arrived, so water flooded the whole room.

It was a pleasant stay, with great service, a pool and a very good breakfast. You can step from the pool area straight into the sea, though it's not exactly a sea beach, and the beach itself is a five-minute walk away. The hotel is about a ten-minute walk from the pier and offers free transport there at checkout.

The hotel is close to lots of restaurants and Sairee beach, which was perfect for us, and we had a very good stay for what we wanted. We would visit again. One thing that got annoying was the heavy bass from some sort of diving bar near our room. It played from around 5pm to 10pm most days. The room was spacious enough, but the bathroom felt a little dated and the water pressure was very poor, just dripping out, although the water was hot. The pool isn't in the same complex as our room, but that wasn't a big deal for us. Also, the sun loungers have no umbrellas, and the pool is in the sun with no shade all day, which can become too much very quickly.

The staff were so, so cool, and reception was fantastic. You can really feel the effort they put into the details and making your stay as enjoyable as possible. We were in awe from arrival to departure. The location is great, the rooms are spacious, and the showers are hot. This place is a gem, really well run and easy to recommend.
