Double Five - Hostel

We slept really well here. The staff and other guests were quiet, considerate, and respectful of privacy. The hostess was wonderful and made sure we had everything we’d asked for to feel comfortable. The rooms have a modern design, and there’s a cool lounge to relax in. Bottled water and a refill station are provided free of charge.

I’m glad I got to experience Thong Lo and stay here. There are pets and a dispensary downstairs, which could be a plus or not, depending on you. It’s a great budget place, with a good price, toiletries, a window with curtains that close, and a locked entrance. The staff were kind and helpful, responsive on Line, and even carried my bags upstairs. The location is great, with a 7 Eleven, massage, grocery store, malls, and restaurants within walking distance. The WiFi was incredible, the bed comfortable, the air con worked well, and the private room had a bathtub. It was very clean, and I always saw someone cleaning. There’s a microwave, shared fridge, cups, plates, bowls, and spices and condiments for sharing. Laundry was great and often done the same day. Some drawbacks: the bathroom in the private rooms isn’t fully enclosed, so drain smells can be an issue. There’s no elevator, only stairs, and the laundry detergent is scented, which isn’t great if you have allergies. There isn’t much common hangout space, and there’s a coat rack but no closet. Construction is going on next to the building, which isn’t their fault but is worth knowing. The hotel is down an alley that can get blocked by cars, so depending on the situation you may not be able to walk right up with your bags. I’d never stayed in a hostel before, and I booked a private room. You take your shoes off and use their slippers.

There’s a really good khao soi restaurant nearby, and the staff were very kind and helpful. The service was top tier. My windowless room was super clean, so I didn’t mind that it had no window.

The pets are really cute! Nice location too. I’d recommend getting a room with a window.
