The Place Luxury Boutique Villas

Our favourite part was having a private balcony with a beautiful sunset view, along with a fantastic private pool. The villa was so nice that it was hard to leave it and head out in the heat to explore. It’s still within walking distance of town, so we could go in for dinner, and the staff were warm and welcoming. If we return to ko Tao, we’ll definitely stay here again.

The team at The Place were really friendly and went out of their way to sort out what we needed. We used their laundry service, snorkels and taxi, and got restaurant recommendations too, which made everything easy. The villa itself was great. You’re in the jungle, so there are bugs and reptiles, but we actually liked that part, especially the very cute geckos. They provide bug repellent and other things to keep the stay comfortable. We had a great time and hope to return.

We were a little unsure about the hill and walking into town at first, but Sairee Beach and the busy town area took around 10 to 15 minutes on foot. The climb back was a workout, though manageable. The Place rents scooters at a very reasonable rate, and trying one turned me from someone afraid of scooters into a convert. Getting around became much easier and more fun, and my feet were grateful. The hill is worth it for the views, and being near town worked well. Our pool villa was stunning, with incredible views, a clean room and a calm, private feel. The design was thoughtful, and the bathroom was especially pretty, with indoor plants by the shower. When it rained one morning, we ordered brunch delivery and waited it out by the pool with wine and card games, listening to the rain and nature. Town delivery was quick, easy and affordable. There were some jungle bugs, but The Place provides what you need to keep them away, and the sounds of nature made it feel even more special. The crew, especially Guy, Ksenia and Emily, made us feel looked after from the start. They arranged a pier transfer, greeted us with a sign with our name on it, and had staff escort us on arrival and departure. They also coordinated with us before the stay. Ksenia walked us through everything and gave us great recommendations. Communication through WhatsApp was quick and convenient. The service felt genuine and personal, and we felt at home and at peace. This was our favourite stay in Thailand and exceeded our expectations. Every thoughtful detail made it memorable, and the team’s care set a high bar for the rest of our trip. We can’t recommend The Place enough. When we return to Koh Tao, this is where we’ll stay. Koh Tao has a special place in our hearts. Thank you to the whole team!

What a place 😊 It’s quiet and peaceful, and the sunset is amazing. The villa has everything you need, though there’s no breakfast since there are no facilities. The centre is close by for anything you need. One thing to know: if geckos in your room aren’t for you, look elsewhere. We had one staying with us most nights. Highly recommend.
