I’ve stayed six nights and loved nearly everything. The woman who runs the place, called 'maam', is excellent. She makes you feel at home and offers good tour deals, so there’s no need to shop around. My air-conditioned room is brilliant, and the fan rooms looked good too. Rooms are roomy, with a wardrobe and dressing table, and there’s free Wi-Fi. It’s also conveniently close to the small local harbour and night food market. Only thing to know: they don’t provide towels, so bring your own.

I paid 200 baht for a private room with two twin beds and a balcony. It’s not as fancy as the pricier hostels, but for a budget traveler like me who only needs a place to sleep, it’s excellent value.

The receptionist will help you plan your trip, and that’s about the only good thing. There’s no privacy, since all the rooms are open at the ceiling. Rats everywhere, and no hot shower. The rest was awful.

Downstairs, you can get a room with air conditioning and a private bathroom. The fan rooms cost 200 baht. The owner speaks okay English. Upstairs has a pleasant summer house feel, though the rooms are tiny and very basic, with shared cold restrooms.

Nothing special, just a standard hostel, but it was good overall. Close to Krabi night market.
