The hotel itself is attractive and fairly priced, and everything else about the stay was fine. The checkout experience, though, was very disappointing. I paid an 800-baht cash deposit for our first night, booked through Booking.com. We then added another night through Booking.com and paid for that by credit card. At checkout, the receptionist kept the deposit, saying it covered the second night. I showed her the payment details for the extension, but she wouldn’t accept them. We had a flight to catch, so we left without making a scene. I wouldn’t go through that again.

If you want somewhere quiet and cozy, this is a decent option. The rooms were peaceful, though breakfast choices were limited, and it’s a bit far from Aao Nang Beach. A nearby 7/11 was a real help for us, with a decent selection.

Nearby, there’s a 7-Eleven, a laundromat, and a good restaurant across the street, which made daily errands and meals easy. The room was roomy, clean, and very comfortable, with a luxurious feel. Staff were generally good, though replies could be slow at times. Check-in was strictly at 2 PM, which seemed rigid, and the internet kept needing a fresh login and often ran slowly. Still, I had a very good stay at Krabi Royal Hotel and would recommend it to visitors to Krabi.

The fittings were in poor shape, dated and badly maintained for the price. Service was worse: reception came across as highly unprofessional, almost as if they were trying to blackmail us. Even simple requests brought threats instead of help, and the whole stay felt stressful and uncomfortable. I can’t recommend this hotel.

The staff were lovely, but we still had to wait until exactly 1pm to check in. We were shown a quiet room at the back before booking, then assigned one beside the road when we arrived. Cars went by noisily all night, so it felt like the windows were open. The restaurant door also had service hours posted incorrectly.
