Tairada Boutique Hotel x StayLah

The noise outside went on all night, roughly from 8:00 PM until sunrise around 6:00 AM. There was thumping music, karaoke and crowds, constantly. I knew there might be nightlife nearby from the hotel's note, and expected some noise, but this was far beyond what I thought was reasonable. It wasn’t occasional, it just kept going. I booked three nights and left after the first because sleeping was impossible. Earplugs, noise-canceling headphones and even Ambien didn’t stop me from waking repeatedly. The hotel didn’t offer any consideration on a refund, so one sleepless night ended up costing quite a lot, and I didn’t use the last two nights of my reservation. If you’ll be out partying all night and don’t need to sleep, it may be fine. But if you expect to sleep, especially between about 10:30 PM and 5:30 AM, that probably isn’t realistic here.

The rooms are big. My favorite restaurant was only a short walk away, and getting to the airport was a quick Grab ride. Thai'd Up Adventures was also a short drive away, and it’s a great place.

It was an OK stay. Nights were mostly quiet, which I appreciated, and the maid was very friendly. She brought fresh water and towels every day, and would clean the room daily if you put out the sign. There’s no lift, but the man at the front desk carried my suitcase up to the second floor.

The hotel is about a 10 min drive from the city center, and there are a few good, inexpensive restaurants nearby that are worth trying. It’s easy to get a motorbike or car to and from town for a low price. My room was clean and spacious, and the Wi-Fi was strong. You can hear traffic from the main road right outside, but with the low price, that was acceptable.
