Hop Inn Lampang

The check-in queue stretched out of the hotel with just one receptionist on duty. That person seemed badly overworked. Having two staff at peak times would make things easier for both employees and guests. It may cost less than the rent from one room and improve the experience for everyone. This is an older branch and a little worn, though not bad. It still has the comfort and cleanliness I expect from Hop Inn.

I’ve stayed here almost every year, but this visit was a letdown, and the hotel seems to have declined over time. Housekeeping never came during my four nights, even though I put out the “Makeup Room” sign. The front desk questioned my request for bottled water after the room had gone uncleaned and unrestocked. The room itself hadn't been cleaned properly: the floor was sticky, and there was hair from the previous guest on the bed and in the bathroom. The internet was also very slow. At check-in, nobody acknowledged my loyalty membership. I’m seriously reconsidering coming back.

The location was fine for me, about a kilometer from the mall and a few hundred meters from a 7-Eleven. The staff were great, and the room felt clean, which stood out compared with some other places on this trip. The bed and pillows were super comfortable, and the air conditioning matched the thick comforter so I slept neither too hot nor too cold. My first stay at a Hop Inn, and a very solid four stars.
