Lampang River Lodge (SHA Certified)

If you have your own vehicle and enjoy nature, I’d recommend this place. It’s a little way out of town, so getting here without a vehicle is an issue. We had good service at both reception and the restaurant, and the quiet setting with natural views was just what I wanted. The hotel has been open for over 30 years, and much of it is built from wood, so it can look a bit old in photos, including the ones in other reviews and mine. In person, though, it seemed well maintained and didn’t look old at all. Since it’s surrounded by big trees, there may be insects around. If you really dislike insects, you might want to skip it to avoid having a bad experience and leaving a poor review.

Breakfast was amazing, and the gardens are so pretty. The hotel is gorgeous and the pool is really nice too. My only complaint is the walls are too thin. You can hear everything your neighbors say, even when they’re just talking normally. I’d have given it five stars otherwise. Still, totally recommended!

The breakfast restaurant had lovely river views, and breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip. Our private bungalow was spacious, with a nice balcony, and the swimming pool was big. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Lampang River Lodge was the best hotel of our Thailand trip. We found it at an incredibly low price on Agoda and weren’t sure what to expect, but everything turned out perfectly. It’s quite a distance from central Lampang, though people staying at the resort would likely have their own transport. We can’t think of a single bad thing to say and recommend it for both short and longer stays.

The big trees and peaceful feel made this place special for me. I loved being able to take a slow walk and clear my head, and it suited me perfectly. If you’re after somewhere lively or flashy, though, it may not be the right fit.
