For 300baht, the dorm was a single mattress on the floor of a renovated barn, which might feel a bit pricey, though I've paid more for less and breakfast is included. I stayed one night while doing the Mae Hong son loop. The bed was comfy, the shower was great, and there were plenty of places to sit outside with just enough privacy indoors. They provide a towel, soap, and shampoo. Breakfast was free, with toast, eggs, bananas, and coffee. Clean enough for what it is. The owners are friendly and speak basic English. I didn't see much of town, just that it's plain and picturesque, with a market and a few restaurants and stores.

The hosts were generous and made us breakfast, coffee, and colour-changing tea. The rooms are nice for the price, and the little town is interesting to explore. A wonderful stay.

You can sit in the communal area or use the small shared kitchen, with gardens and plants all around. It's a lovely little family-owned guest house with private rooms and one dorm room. The hosts are very friendly, and their son took some time in the morning to explain the best places to visit nearby.

We paid 400B for a queen bed with fans, which were perfect since it gets colder at night. The WiFi was very fast, but just so you know, the bathroom is shared and outside. The couple running the quiet property were so friendly and chatty. They don't speak much English, but enough for a good conversation. Breakfast was free Thai food and tea in the morning, and so yummy. With trees and plants all around and lots of spots to sit and enjoy the peace, it was a wonderful one-night stay. I'd definitely recommend it!

Mae Chaem feels so underrated. I'd like to come back for a few nights and explore more. The place itself was welcoming and comfortable, with AC, and a great place to stay.
