The service stood out, with professional, friendly staff who were always helpful. Breakfast was very good too, with a mix of Japanese, Thai, and European styles. Guests can use the onsen, the museum of Japanese cultural items the owner has collected over the years, and the indoor garden across the road at no extra cost. The onsen is clean and authentic, fed by a water source within the hotel. Its temperature varies through the day, mostly around 39-43 C; the large bath is cooler and the round one hotter. You’re expected to wash before bathing, as in Japan, and fabric underwear is available for anyone not used to bathing naked. My room was bright, clean, modern, and comfortable, and I slept well in the comfy bed. The resort was founded by Mr. Tanaka, who also founded the Fuji Restaurant chain. It’s a quiet, relaxing place that would suit families or couples.

The room rate felt very cheap for the quality and service, and the food tasted great, with good Japanese dishes from Fuji restuarant. The onsen was as good as in Japan, and the flower garden was amazing. Everything exceeded my expectations, from the facilities to the rest of the hotel. One of the best places I’ve ever stayed, and I totally recommend it.

My room was spacious, luxurious, and so comfortable to return to after soaking and eating. I also loved the on-site restaurant, Chob, where the ingredients and cooking quality were excellent and every dish seemed thoughtfully made. The Japanese onsen is beautifully designed and incredibly relaxing, with such a peaceful atmosphere you could stay for hours. Massage and a foot spa are available too, which go perfectly with it. I didn’t get to the fitness center or botanical garden this time, so I’d like to return and spend more time using the facilities. Highly recommend for a quiet, restorative getaway in Chiang Rai.

The onsen was a real treat, and the food was great. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to make our stay special. A fantastic place to switch off and relax.

The museum is a must see, packed with Japanese cultural collections that are mind blowing. The place has a cozy atmosphere and great staff. We’ll definitely come back next time we visit Chiangrai.
