Tantawan Tented Camp by Dusit, Chiang Rai

The setting is ideal if you love nature and want to get away and relax. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, helpful, and ready to do whatever they could to make our stay enjoyable. These tents go well beyond glamping, with all the comforts and amenities you could want. We’d highly recommend visiting Friends of Thai Daughters Sunflower Farm across the street. It’s an amazing place where Thai girls can grow up and find opportunities to make a difference for themselves and others. We’ll tell all our friends in America about this place, and if we lived nearby, we’d come often!

We all agreed these were the most comfortable beds we’ve slept in in Asia, with fluffy duvets, high thread count linens, and wonderful pillows. Roo du Gan restaurant serves Michelin Quality meals, maybe even better because the food isn’t pretentious. Kudos to chef Ator and the kitchen team! There’s lots to do, from cycling, archery, and pickleball to the pool, but it’s just as peaceful if you want to sit with a book and a cold beer. We had a fabulous BBQ at the Ambalama firepit, watching a thrilling movie on the giant outdoor drive-in screen under the stars. From sunrise to sunset, we were so well looked after, with no detail missed. This luxury tented camp is in a bucolic setting, and the clean, spacious tents are really well appointed. It’s on par with the best hotels in the world. Can’t wait to come back.

I was a little unsure about staying at a camp, but Tantawan won me over and I enjoyed everything it offered. The northern Thai landscape is breathtaking, and the setting is lovely, with tents that have excellent amenities and delightful furnishings. They’re arranged so there’s a good balance between privacy and easy access to the facilities. The staff were attentive and eager to please. Thank you, Tantawan, I had a lovely stay and plenty of time to reflect and appreciate the scenery.

We had another fabulous visit to Tantawan Tented Camp, and the whole group thoroughly enjoyed it. The tofu green curry is a favorite, and the food in general is fabulous. The staff go above and beyond to take care of everything. The beds are so comfortable we didn’t want to get up. I highly recommend this peaceful, beautiful oasis.
