Inthada At Mae Kampong Chiang Mai

The power cut was the worst part of our stay. It lasted from 7:15 PM until 11:49 PM, and there was no backup power, though the places on either side were brightly lit. The water stopped too, making showers and using the toilet difficult, especially with children along. We spent around five hours hot and in the dark. With no mosquito nets and so many insects outside, we couldn't open the doors or windows. Staff gave us six candles, but no lanterns or small backup lights. When our phone battery died, we asked for a flashlight, which came later. Smoke from the candles set off the alarm, and nobody told us when power might return. We had to keep asking. We were a family group of 18, including children and our seven-year-old grandchildren, in a large pool villa and six rooms in the main building. The property looked beautiful and upscale, but the rooms were very dirty, as if they hadn't been cleaned for a long time. There were dead insects and droppings on the floors. Some rooms had no fridge, some had no kettle, and none had a TV. We could live with that. The service, though, was terrible. We ordered three BBQ pork sets from the property and bought four beers at the shop next door. They didn't sell beer or other drinks, yet charged 200 baht for corkage and another 200 baht for ice with a small bucket, or 100 baht for the bucket without ice. That felt unfair after paying so much and ordering food there. We hadn't bought much beer and only wanted a few drinks with the BBQ, so we decided not to open any more. There weren't many teenagers with us, mostly seniors and our grandchildren. We paid a high rate expecting better care and service from an upscale place, and got the opposite. It's such a shame. We were very disappointed, won't come back, and wouldn't recommend it.

The fresh air and lovely natural views made waking up here feel so refreshing. My stay at Intada Mae Kampong was quiet and private, just right for relaxing. The room was beautiful, clean, and had all the amenities. Staff were warm, attentive, and friendly, and made me feel at home. I was impressed by the whole stay, felt it was worth it, and will definitely return. ❤️

Breakfast was a letdown too. There weren't enough seats, though we could put up with standing and waiting. What we got was a little bowl of pork congee with scraps, not even one proper piece of pork. It seemed like leftovers from another table. I guess we were meant to be open-minded, as the owner told us. Anyone thinking of booking should know we felt like the real victims here. I've never posted a review before, even though I travel on vacation often. I felt I had to this time because the manager and owner were rude and irresponsible. I had booked a Deluxe River View King Size Bed room for January 2nd, 2026. When we arrived, the electrical system kept flickering, and the refrigerator was broken. Staff said the fridge had caused a short circuit and offered an ice cooler instead. They said I could leave anything that might spoil in the fridge. I asked how I'd get my things late at night, and got only a blank smile, no answer. They said the electrical issue had started December 31st, 2025, but the electrician was off duty. Why hadn't anyone called to tell me? They offered to move me to a villa, but it wasn't the kind of room I'd chosen. I asked whether it cost the same, and the manager insisted it did because he set the prices himself. I didn't believe that, since the room types were different, and found him completely insincere. I said I wouldn't move, or asked if there'd be a problem if I did, since the replacement was cheaper. He kept saying the price was the same. When we said moving wouldn't be fair to customers, the manager raised her voice and asked, "What do you want me to do?" We asked whether she should contact the owner. The owner called but took no responsibility, saying only that the fridge was broken and they'd already replaced it with an ice bucket, then asking what else we wanted. They also told us to be open-minded. We stopped arguing, put up with it, and went to sleep.

The setting is shady and natural, and you can hear the waterfall. There's a bathtub for a soak, and the bed and pillows are soft. The air conditioner is small but cools the room well. The place is decent. Breakfast comes as a set, but you can ask for more if it's not enough. The taste was average, nothing special. Mae Kampong Village is not far by car.
