Taryn Tara Cafe and Stay

Really relaxing atmosphere, with tasty drinks and friendly staff. This little café has such an impressive minimalist look 🌺🌺

The terrace alone is worth a look for its waterfall and greenery views. Inside, the white minimalist design is balanced nicely by warm wood touches, and the café sits beautifully on the cliffside. The coffee is good quality and reasonably priced, and the staff are attentive and friendly. It’s a peaceful spot with a distinctive feel, well worth a visit.

The room was the letdown. It didn’t feel very hygienic, and some things, especially the bedding and towels, seemed old and low quality. For the price, the stay wasn’t worth it. I was there one night, though the staff were friendly and the mini waterfall view was great. The architecture and interior are cute and photogenic. I’d recommend coming for the café only.

I’ll remember waking up to the river flowing by. It’s such a peaceful place to stay, just a few minutes from Mae Kampong, with rooms looking out over the river. Breakfast is brought to your room each day at a time you choose, and Mookata dinner is served on the terrace every night. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent. There’s a large car park 100M down the road, but you can pull up outside to unload your bags and check in. One thing to know: places to stay in Mae Kampong are by the road and river. The road isn’t busy, but the occasional vehicle can be loud. I’m a light sleeper, so I’d bring earplugs just in case. Highly recommended, and I’d come back.
