The people here made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and their warm Thai hospitality really stood out. We loved being tucked beside the river in the jungle, in a beautifully kept place that felt peaceful and special. Our room was spacious and lovely, with a private onsen and a big terrace for unwinding. Meals were delicious and simple to order, especially the Shabu Shabu, which was a highlight. Mae Kampong village is worth a short visit, though the homestay itself is so relaxing that you may prefer to stay put and enjoy the surroundings.

That private jacuzzi tub on the terrace, facing the jungle, was a highlight. Our Ma Rak suite (I think that's what it's called) sat above the river with dense forest right in front. It was roomy, stylish, and felt quite luxurious to us, with little details that kept catching our eye right through the last day. I would've liked more variety in the food and more vegetarian choices, though.

The breakfast had plenty to choose from and was nicely put together, and they left complimentary snacks for us overnight. We also had really good coffee and tasty dishes, though English was limited among the staff. They were still attentive and clearly cared. The rooms are nicely decorated, the mattresses are comfortable, and the retro game console was fun. The setting is a dream, and you can also come just to eat at the restaurant. A very good experience for the price.

The resort is lovely and clean, and the food was good. Its beautiful setting seems to be the main reason for the strong reviews. Our own welcome felt less warm than some guests describe, and there were no complimentary extras. Getting help could be a challenge: staff sometimes had to find someone else when we asked, and communication was difficult because almost nobody spoke English. I usually wouldn't mind, but at over €160 a night I expected service above the average.

The owner was friendly and down-to-earth, and clearly cares a lot about this place. The staff were just as welcoming, and breakfast was generous and delicious. I loved the latte too, it was the best I've ever had. This little hideaway in the jungle had an amazing atmosphere, including a tiny private waterfall, and my room was unusual but very comfortable with everything I needed. I'd happily recommend staying here. The nearby village is also worth visiting for fresh, locally made food with loads of flavor.
